Tragic Morning in Eastern China: 11 Killed in Bus Crash Outside School, Including Children and Parents
In eastern China, a tragic incident occurred when a bus struck a group of people outside a school, resulting in the deaths of 5 children and 6 adults. Following the accident, which left many others injured, the bus driver was taken into custody by police. This catastrophic event took place shortly after national media reported on new initiatives aimed at enhancing student safety.
On Tuesday morning in eastern China, a bus accident occurred in front of a junior high school, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to 24 others.
State media outlet CCTV reported that the accident took place at approximately 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the academic year.
According to the report, the injured individuals were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, among the deceased were six parents and five students. One individual sustained severe injuries, whereas 12 others are in stable condition. The status of the remaining injured parties remains uncertain.
Authorities reported that the vehicle involved was a school bus transporting students. It veered off its path as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. Law enforcement has since taken the driver into custody and an investigation into the incident is underway.
