Tragedy Strikes School in Eastern China: Bus Crash Claims Lives of Students and Parents, Community Rallies with Blood Drive
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China after a bus collided with a school gathering, with the driver now in custody. Meanwhile, a nearby cinema has organized for blood donation units to be available, following a plea on social media to help the many people injured in the accident.
On Tuesday morning, a bus veered into a group of people outside a junior high school in eastern China, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to 24 others.
State-run CCTV reported that the accident happened at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day back at school.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained serious injuries, while 12 others are currently stable. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
Authorities reported that the vehicle involved was a school bus transporting students. It veered off course and collided with a group of people while nearing an intersection. Law enforcement has taken the bus driver into custody and is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
