Trackhouse: Rider Market Frenzied, "Silly Season" Continues
Wilco Zeelenberg: "Things are pretty chaotic right now in the paddock. The 'silly season' is still in full swing, and I believe all the riders are prepared to give their all in the next two rounds before the summer break."
Trackhouse Racing has not yet announced their MotoGP team for 2025, while the rider market remains a hot topic in the news.
Marco Bezzecchi finalized his contract on Monday, officially joining Aprilia Racing as their newest rider.
There is considerable curiosity about the American team Trackhouse Racing and the riders they will choose for the upcoming MotoGP season.
Commenting on the upcoming event in Assen this weekend, team manager Wilco Zeelenberg remarked, "Things are pretty chaotic in the paddock right now. The silly season is still in full swing, and I believe all the riders are prepared to give their all in the next two rounds before the summer break."
"Assen holds a unique place in my heart, primarily because it is my local track. Additionally, the circuit's design is incredibly fast, which tends to be a favorite among riders."
"Reflecting on our recent race finishes, it's a great moment to build on the momentum we've gained. I'm excited to pick up where we left off, with the team improving and delivering stronger performances. Let's see what we can achieve in Assen!"
It is uncertain if Miguel Oliveira will stay with Trackhouse, as his name has been associated with other teams while he aims to achieve top performance on the 24-spec RS-GP motorcycle.
Oliveira acknowledges that accumulating only 31 points this season makes the upcoming Assen race potentially challenging.
Oliveira remarked, "Assen presents a significant challenge. The track is narrow and features a series of high-speed directional changes, making it quite difficult to maneuver."
"However, I typically enjoy racing on this track with the MotoGP bike, so I'm excited to aim for a strong performance this weekend."
In contrast to Oliveira, his teammate Raul Fernandez has experienced an improvement in performance at crucial moments.
Fernandez seemed at serious risk of losing his spot in MotoGP, but the Spanish rider has now improved his chances of staying in the competition thanks to his impressive performance since the Catalunya race.
"This week, we're heading to Assen, which is one of my preferred circuits," Fernandez mentioned. "I have fond memories from 2021 when I made an impressive comeback to secure a victory in the Moto2 championship."
"I really like the TT Circuit, our motorcycle should perform nicely on this track, and I love spending time in the Netherlands."
"Following the Mugello event, I had an operation on my right arm. I'm eager to find out how this will affect my riding performance this weekend."
