During a flight from Belfast to Birmingham, the Prime Minister expressed to accompanying journalists his enthusiasm for the ongoing campaign, asserting that he was "ready for the battle" and definitely relishing the experience.
When questioned about his chances of victory, he responded confidently, "Absolutely."

The nation and his own party were taken aback when the prime minister unexpectedly announced an election on Wednesday, promptly initiating a campaign tour across all four countries of the United Kingdom.
During his conversation with journalists on the flight, he briefly discussed the difficulties he encountered. He responded to inquiries regarding Craig Mackinlay, the Conservative MP for South Thanet, who announced he would not seek re-election after losing his hands and feet to sepsis.
Mr. Mackinlay had intended to run for re-election, but stated that the premature election rendered it unfeasible.

He emphasized the extensive campaigning he has undertaken so far.
"I'm really excited. You were there with me, right? We kicked things off in the East Midlands—was it yesterday? No, it was Wednesday night. That's where I spent the night, wasn't it?"

During the discussion, Mr. Sunak was questioned about including the prohibition of smoking for individuals born post-2009 in the party’s manifesto.
"He emphasized the importance of not jumping to conclusions, confirming that a manifesto will indeed be released," he noted, yet he declined to discuss what the manifesto contains.

In a discussion with Sky News, Ms. Murray expressed that although she didn't perceive outright deception, she did feel that she had been led astray.
She expressed her understanding for the prime minister, explaining that he was unable to inform her about his plans to announce an election.
