**”Revving Regrets: Did Lewis Hamilton Jump the Gun by Leaving Mercedes for Ferrari?”**
Has Lewis Hamilton erred in choosing to leave Mercedes for Ferrari?
"He might be pondering over his future and questioning, 'Was that the correct choice?'"
Lewis Hamilton could potentially contemplate leaving Mercedes following his victory at Silverstone.
On Sunday, Hamilton secured his first race victory since 2021 by winning the F1 British Grand Prix.
This was his final race on home turf with the Mercedes team, the squad with which his achievements are closely associated, as he will be joining Ferrari next year.
Hamilton announced earlier this year that he has committed to joining Ferrari in 2025, at a time when Mercedes' advancements seemed distant.
Mercedes has secured back-to-back grand prix victories, first with Russell in Austria and now with Hamilton at Silverstone, equaling Ferrari’s number of wins for the season.
"Occasionally, a change is necessary to reignite your drive," Jenson Button remarked on Sky Sports following the British Grand Prix.
"We've observed numerous drivers who have done it and subsequently improved their performance. Take Sebastian Vettel, for instance.
"Once he goes to sleep, ideally after having a few beers, he'll probably reflect on his future and wonder, 'Did I make the right choice?'"
"There’s a possibility that if Lewis joins Ferrari, their fortunes might improve swiftly."
Naomi Schiff commented: "A few races back, no one anticipated consecutive wins for Mercedes."
"Events in this game can shift rapidly."
"He holds the record for the longest tenure with a single team in the history of Formula 1."
“It’s pleasant to change things up and try something new."
"He has achieved the distinction of being the most senior race victor in the 21st century. Given that he is nearing the end of his professional journey, it might be time to explore new opportunities. Competing for Ferrari is a prestigious experience."
“At this moment, their main goal should be to finish the season on a high note.”
After completing 12 of the 20 races this season, Mercedes appears to be in a better position than Ferrari.
At the beginning of the season, Ferrari was the closest rival to Red Bull, but recently, McLaren and Mercedes have surpassed them in performance.
The buzz about Mercedes' strong engine for 2026, marking the start of a new era, is encouraging for the Brackley squad.
By that time, Hamilton will be aiming for additional wins at Silverstone while driving the iconic red Ferrari.
