Paolo Pavesio to Succeed Lin Jarvis as Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director in 2025
Yamaha has announced Paolo Pavesio as the new managing director, taking over from Lin Jarvis in 2025.
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will succeed Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year leadership at Yamaha.
Under Jarvis's leadership, Yamaha secured eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He guided the Japanese company through its peak years with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also managed their latest triumph with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve Yamaha as a Senior Advisor.
“On a personal note and representing Yamaha, I want to express my gratitude to Lin for his commitment and accomplishments throughout these 26 years," stated Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP. I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Lin's successor as Managing Director will be Paolo Pavesio. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his time at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director. During his tenure, he successfully led Yamaha teams to secure World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am excited about Paolo joining YMR in January and believe that his leadership will help Yamaha achieve the future success we are all aiming for in MotoGP."
