Mark Webber has identified three key attributes that Adrian Newey will employ to enhance Aston Martin's performance.
During Newey's time at Red Bull, Webber served as one of their drivers, a period that is set to conclude at the start of the following year.
The departing automobile design expert is set to become part of Aston Martin, where he has been introduced as both a shareholder and a Managing Technical Partner.
On Channel 4, Webber characterized Newey to Aston Martin team leader Mike Krack as a modest individual, noting that his collection of accolades dates back to the 90s, starting with Leighton House.
"He achieved great success in his endeavor. By keeping costs low, he engineered an automobile that revolutionized the sector. Following that, Williams…
His trophy collection surpasses that of Pep Guardiola!
"In this racing arena, the influence that Newey can wield…
"The modesty, the dedication to hard work, the ability to make decisions."
Webber inquired of Krack, "You must be eager about the group we're assembling to help get this project off the ground for you all, right?"
Krack replied, "Definitely. We are in the process of team development."
"The week prior, we inaugurated two additional facilities, marking them the second and third buildings to be brought into operation. However, the wind tunnel remains under preparation, as does the simulator."
"It's a strong match so far. We need to keep our feet on the ground and progress gradually."
"It's taking too long! We're hoping to get it as quickly as we can.
"Lawrence has arranged all the necessary elements to ascend into a leading team. The strategy involves gradual progress, and clearly, this phase is crucial."
When inquired about Newey's focus upon joining next year, Krack was questioned if his efforts would be dedicated exclusively to the Aston Martin F1 vehicle for the 2026 season
"By the time he gets here, the 2025 model car will have already been released," Krack mentioned.
The deployment is scheduled to occur just prior to that time.
"Undoubtedly, we can derive valuable insights from the current car. Our primary attention needs to shift towards 2026 and the subsequent years."
"It would be unwise for us not to leverage Adrian's extensive knowledge to the fullest extent."
Webber inquired Krack regarding the team's upcoming aspiration: "Is Max Verstappen also included?"
Krack, perhaps predictably, avoided the question but provided a clue.
He mentioned: "To introduce a new piece into a completed puzzle, you have to remove one first!"
"We will continue to expand. In excellence, in our approach to everything."
"This should serve as motivation for aspiring engineers to become part of our team."
To compete with the leading teams, who operate at a higher standard, we must elevate our performance.
"There's a significant amount of information to absorb. The framework must stay flexible as individuals come and go, striving to enhance the standard daily."
