Marco Bezzecchi Joins Factory Aprilia Team for 2025 MotoGP Season: A New Era Begins
Confirmed: Marco Bezzecchi to Ride for Aprilia in MotoGP 2025
Marco Bezzecchi is set to become a member of the official Aprilia team for the 2025 MotoGP season.
Marco Bezzecchi has been officially announced as a member of the factory Aprilia team for the 2025 MotoGP season.
Bezzecchi is set to join forces with the current championship frontrunner and newly signed Aprilia rider, Jorge Martin, in a completely revamped RS-GP team. This change comes after Aleix Espargaro's retirement and Maverick Vinales' unexpected move to Tech3 KTM.
The youthful Italian rider has dedicated his entire three-year MotoGP career to Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Ducati team, securing three victories and achieving a third-place finish in the previous year's world championship.
This season, the year-old GP23 has not performed as well. Next season, there might be an opportunity to acquire a factory GP25 at VR46 if Pramac decides to part ways with Ducati. Throughout, Bezzecchi has consistently expressed his desire to join a factory team.
Aprilia has successfully secured an Italian rider for their home race, marking the first time since Lorenzo Savadori's participation in 2020. They referred to the Martin-Bezzecchi team as their "top picks".
"Massimo Rivola, the CEO of Aprilia Racing, expressed his excitement about welcoming an exceptional Italian talent to the team. This rider has proven his skills since his early days in the lower categories and particularly shone last year in MotoGP with remarkable performances, including several dominant victories."
"We are thrilled to welcome Bez to Noale; the combination of an Italian bike with an Italian rider is incredibly thrilling, but the prospect of teaming him up with Jorge is even more exhilarating."
The team is thrilled about their 2025 roster, having selected Martín and Bezzecchi as their top picks due to their youth, skills, perseverance, and resolve. They believe these riders will help them create a significant and new milestone in Aprilia Racing's legacy.
Similar to Martin, Bezzecchi – who was initially approached by Aprilia for a Moto2 transition to MotoGP in the 2021 season – has committed to a 'multi-year deal'.
With Bezzecchi's agreement in place, the factory positions for Ducati, KTM, and Aprilia have been finalized for 2025.
Both Honda and Yamaha still need to finalize one spot on their respective factory teams.
