Lib Dems Campaign to End Premier League Paywall, Aiming to Boost National Sports Participation
The Liberal Democrats are calling on the government to make Premier League matches accessible without a paywall, suggesting that this could motivate a greater number of people to engage in sports activities.

Calls have been made for the government to ensure that this is the final season in which Premier League matches are restricted by a paywall.
The Liberal Democrats have committed in their manifesto to reducing the expense of viewing major football matches, proposing that a minimum of 10 Premier League matches each season should be broadcast at no cost.
The political group, currently represented by 72 members in the legislature, is advocating for the elimination of the paywall to capitalize on the Olympic Games' momentum and encourage greater participation in sports.
Calum Miller, the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Bicester and Woodstock, has penned a letter to Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy requesting a meeting with football industry officials to explore opportunities for free broadcasting.
