**”KTM’s 2025 MotoGP Strategy: No ‘Team Captain’ as Binder, Acosta, Vinales, and Bastianini Battle for Top Spot”**

No 'team captain' role at KTM in MotoGP 2025, "the decision is up to the riders"

Will it be Binder, Acosta, Vinales, or Bastianini? For KTM in 2025, the 'team captain' will be the rider who leads in the points standings.

Brad Binder, who has been with the Red Bull KTM team for five years, will team up with current MotoGP newcomer Pedro Acosta at the Austrian squad next season. Meanwhile, Tech3 will feature a completely new roster, including multiple race victors Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini.

However, KTM motorsports director Pit Beirer stated that no rider or team will be given automatic priority status. Additionally, if there are limited new development parts, they will be allocated based on the riders' championship standings.

Beirer stated, "We had discussions with all four riders regarding our future work strategies. Our goal is to pair each rider with a supportive team and provide them with identical bikes at the beginning of the season."

"It's not typically the strategy to introduce a new component for just one rider to test, but there may be instances when a new development proves to be an improvement, yet there's only the capacity to produce enough for a single rider."

"The top-ranked rider in the standings will receive it."

Beirer confirmed that the top rider in the points standings from their group would be the team captain. Following this, the second and third positions would be…

"It's different from the traditional MotoGP setup where one side of the garage belongs to the factory team and the other to the satellite team. Typically, the factory team would receive new components before the satellite team."

"The responsibility for obtaining materials lies with the boys."

KTM has shown that their statements are genuine by providing Acosta, who is currently racing under the GASGAS banner for Tech3, with the most up-to-date components to match his elite KTM ranking in the world championship standings.

Beirer thinks that the policy, along with the young Spaniard's remarkable accomplishments this season, served as a promotion to draw riders such as Vinales and Bastianini to Tech3/KTM.

"Pedro provided us with an excellent opportunity this year to demonstrate our full backing for Tech3 riders. This, in turn, attracted more riders to join," Beirer stated.

"In racing, the leader will naturally be the strongest competitor."

Next season, all four RC16 riders will have a similar appearance as Tech3 will adopt the Red Bull KTM branding, aligning with the official team, after spending two seasons under the 'GASGAS' name.

The addition of Vinales, who has secured ten race victories with Suzuki, Yamaha, and Aprilia, along with Bastianini, a Ducati rider with five race wins, implies:

"Examining the current points ranking, riders in positions 4 (Bastianini), 5 (Acosta), 6 (Vinales), and 7 (Binder) will be joining us next year."

"The goal is easy to see. It's the three locations ahead of us."

"I think this setup will be incredibly powerful, especially considering Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro. They are both involved in developing the bike and are excellent communicators with the riders."

“There are no certainties, but I believe the 2025 team will allow us to progress in this category and aim for our major title goal.”

Beirer addressed a few journalists following the announcements regarding Vinales and Bastianini joining Tech3, but mentioned that he will now shift his attention back to the ongoing season.

Beirer mentioned that he would prefer to refrain from discussing Enea and Maverick further after their current conversation. He felt it would be unfair to continue, as both riders have strong teams and manufacturers backing them this year and are competing for top results.

"We needed to make the 2025 agreements public. However, it's now essential for us to pull back, return home, and concentrate on the four riders we currently have. They merit our complete attention, and it's only fair to the other teams that we refrain from interfering with their riders."

Following the Mugello event, significant contract movements have taken place involving four of the top six riders in the world championship standings. Among them, title leader Jorge Martin, along with Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales, will switch to different manufacturers in 2025.

"I can't predict the impact of Martin's switch to Aprilia on the future. However, it's clear that if the current championship leader joins a different team, it's uncertain who will be the top contender for each manufacturer as the season concludes," stated Beirer.

"That doesn't concern me because I have four sons, and we need to improve our performance compared to the first half of the season."

"We aim to utilize the interval leading up to Assen to help our four riders reach peak performance."

"It's exciting to announce Vinales and Bastianini, and we should take a few hours to celebrate. However, after that, we need to return to our main strategy. The season is lengthy, and there remains plenty of work to accomplish for this year."

Jack Miller, currently ranked 16th, and Augusto Fernandez, positioned 17th, are set to depart from KTM. Their spots will be taken by Vinales and Bastianini. The future plans for Miller and Fernandez in 2025 have not yet been announced.
