KTM Stands Firm: Brad Binder’s Place Secure Despite Challenging Season, Acosta Joins Line-up
KTM explains their decision to stick with Brad Binder
"We don’t leave a rider behind in circumstances like these"
KTM continues to support Brad Binder even though he has had a challenging season.
His difficulties led to hushed speculations about his future, but KTM swiftly dismissed any notion of him being replaced.
Meanwhile, Jack Miller, his teammate, misses out as Pedro Acosta secures a spot alongside Binder in the 2025 MotoGP roster as a factory KTM rider.
"There's no question about Acosta's remarkable talent. However, that does not imply that Brad is being sidelined," said Hubert Trunkenpolz, a board member of Pierer Mobility Group, to GPone.
"Brad has faced a lot of misfortune this year; numerous minor issues have arisen for him."
“However, we do not leave a rider behind in circumstances like these.
“We are aware that Binder possesses remarkable speed and has the capability to secure victories in MotoGP races.
"He has consistently demonstrated that with us across all three Grand Prix categories."
"Currently, there are some technical issues with Brad's bike, so we need to assist him in resolving them."
"We've adjusted his bike in a way that improves its traction, but it has compromised the feedback he requires to achieve peak performance."
For a significant portion of last season, Binder was in the running for the championship and was the top rider not on a Ducati bike.
In 2023, he ended up in fourth place, but this year, he hasn't been able to maintain or build on that performance.
Following his second-place finish at the season opener in Qatar, Binder has seldom challenged the leading competitors.
Young newcomer Acosta has, on the other hand, been the highest-achieving KTM rider.
Binder has faced difficulties mastering the RC16 in recent races, and he lost his lead during the sprint in Catalunya.
