Jiyue’s Second Attempt: Baidu-Backed Firm Launches New Model in Bid to Revive Sales in China’s Premium EV Market
Jiyue, supported by Baidu, is trying to gain momentum in China's high-end electric vehicle market with the introduction of its second model. The company is relying on autonomous driving technology to secure its position among the leading manufacturers, following disappointing sales of its first model.
Advance sales kicked off on Wednesday night. The firm is set to reveal specifics about the sedan and its features at an unveiling event on September 10.
"Jiyue is banking on its second model to revitalize its sales," stated Eric Han, a top-level executive at Suolei, a consulting company based in Shanghai. "Considering the advanced technologies and backing from tech giant Baidu, there are expectations for the company's performance to pick up, especially in light of the uninspiring sales figures from the Jiyue 01."
Jiyue doesn't release information about their deliveries. They're not included in the top 10 list of electric vehicle manufacturers in China based on monthly sales, as per the China Passenger Car Association's publication.
