Jack Miller Secures Pramac Yamaha Deal for 2025, Reveals Journey from Uncertainty to MotoGP Continuation
Jack Miller Shares Insights on His Journey to Pramac Deal: "It Seemed Hopeless"
Jack Miller Discusses His Initial Impressions of the Pramac Yamaha Agreement
Jack Miller acknowledged that his prospects in MotoGP seemed grim around the mid-season hiatus until he secured a contract with Pramac Yamaha for 2025.
Speculation had been swirling for several weeks, but on Thursday, just before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Yamaha confirmed it had secured Miller for a one-year contract for the upcoming season.
During the British Grand Prix, Miller revealed that he had not received any contract proposals for 2025 following his departure from the KTM team.
Nonetheless, over that weekend, connections to Pramac surfaced, alongside speculations about a switch to Trackhouse.
Miller had previously competed on a Ducati for Pramac Racing from 2018 to 2020, and his move to Yamaha signifies the fourth distinct manufacturer's motorcycle he has piloted in MotoGP competitions.
"Miller expressed, 'The journey has been extensive but it's incredibly rewarding to see it come to fruition. Especially considering there were moments, particularly around the summer break, when the outlook wasn't very promising at all.'"
"Feeling incredibly lucky and overjoyed to remain part of the lineup in the coming year."
"I sense that my journey in MotoGP isn't complete yet, and I'm profoundly thankful to Paolo [Campinoti] and everyone at Yamaha for giving me the chance to carry on."
Next season at Pramac, Miller will team up with Miguel Oliveira, who has inked a two-year agreement.
Despite not having a secure long-term position with Pramac at the moment, Miller remains unworried, given his extensive experience with one-year contracts throughout his career.
"He described the Yamaha project as highly thrilling," he added.
"I delivered some of my finest work while under a one-year contract. Hence, I'm quite familiar with that scenario."
"Absolutely, we're eager to find out what lies ahead for the two of us. The sensation is incredible."
"Collaborating with them promises to be an enjoyable and challenging experience. They already have a solid project in place, which is only expected to grow stronger with the reintroduction of the satellite team in 2025. It's shaping up quite well."
Miller's recent contract agreement follows speculation that Yamaha is shifting its focus to a V4 engine for 2025, transitioning from the inline-four cylinder configuration it has utilized throughout the entire four-stroke period.
The individual, who has clinched the grand prix title four times, previously collaborated with Yamaha's technical chief, Max Bartolini.
