Honor Dethrones Samsung to Become Leading Foldable Smartphone Brand in Western Europe, Reports Counterpoint Research
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leading brand in Western Europe's foldable smartphone market. For the first time, the offshoot of Huawei has achieved this position in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones, following China.
Honor, a smartphone brand from China, has outperformed Samsung Electronics to emerge as the leading foldable-phone producer in Western Europe, as per the information from the industry consulting firm, Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, has become the leading brand in the foldable handset market for the first time during the second quarter. Following China, Western Europe is the next biggest market for foldable smartphones and is a competitive arena for brands like Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as per the recent report by Counterpoint.
Honor, after releasing its widely acclaimed Magic V2, a book-style device, internationally last September, experienced a 455 per cent surge in its global foldable shipments during the second quarter, marking the most significant annual growth compared to all other brands, according to the report.
Around the world, Honor's local competitor Huawei has maintained its position as the leading brand in the foldable-phone market for two consecutive quarters, thanks to its robust performance in China, as per a separate report by Counterpoint.
