To understand the current mood of voters now that a summer general election has been announced, we purchased a couch, placed it in the parking area of a local pub, and encouraged passersby to sit down and discuss their thoughts.
The individual responsible for our delivery was 53-year-old Rob Howden, who operates a van delivery service in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area.
"He believes the Conservatives are going to repeat their success," he stated.
"The economy is starting to stabilize, in my opinion."
"Let's go for another vote. I believe they're assured enough to repeat it."
Rob was taken aback by the Prime Minister's sudden announcement of an early election, expressing skepticism about the Labour Party's ability to perform more effectively.
"He remarked, 'They're always overspending, aren't they? I simply can't believe they've turned a new leaf.'"
While we were talking with Rob, a woman approached and started to listen.
She immediately spoke up upon hearing him declare his continued support for the Tories.
