Fermin Aldeguer’s Bold Leap to MotoGP with Ducati: A Contractually Guaranteed Ride on the GP26 Amid Team Uncertainty
Ducati's unsorted property assertively states that his contract obligates him to pilot a GP26
Fresh insights from Fermin Aldeguer's representative suggest intriguing future actions
Fermin Aldeguer's exact path forward remains uncertain, though he is guaranteed a promotion to MotoGP with Ducati in the coming year.
Yet, it remains unclear which team the young Moto2 rider will become a part of.
Pramac's upcoming choice on whether to continue partnering with Ducati, benefiting from access to factory-level equipment, or to leave and join Yamaha, leaves Aldeguer's future uncertain for now.
Gresini and VR46 will definitely continue their partnership with Ducati into the following year.
Aldeguer's representative has firmly stated that they have finalized an agreement granting them specific privileges from Ducati.
"Hector Faubel has confirmed with Mundo Deportivo that they've agreed to a 2+2 agreement."
"We are guaranteed two years of safety, with the possibility of an additional two years depending on certain goals."
In my view, their cost-effectiveness is impressive, especially given their performance in MotoGP.
"Under the agreement, in the initial year, he has the option to pilot either a Desmosedici GP24 or a GP25 model. The decision will be made by Ducati."
"In his second year, he's committed to choosing the GP26 regardless."
This implies that for his inaugural season in the top tier, Aldeguer might team up with Gresini or VR46, operating machinery from the previous year.
The excitement builds for the upcoming year as Aldeguer's manager confidently claims they will have a bike with factory specifications.
Factory racers Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia have also secured contracts to pilot GP26 motorcycles.
What would happen if Pramac decides not to continue its partnership with Ducati? Currently, the focus is on determining the team that Aldeguer will be part of in the upcoming season.
"Faubel mentioned that it remains unclear which team he will join."
"Ducati has advised us to remain quite composed."
"They've informed us that their choice was him and that we belong to the household."
Could Ducati, in the event of their Pramac team switching to Yamaha, potentially postpone Aldeguer's entry into MotoGP?
Faubel mentioned, "It's been disclosed that Ducati would pay him 300,000 euros in compensation if they inform him he won't be riding the bike next year."
"That's not true. While I can't disclose the specific figure, I assure you it's significantly greater."
Faubel mentioned regarding Aldeguer: "He believes he's prepared to advance, possessing great self-assurance."
Aldeguer currently holds the sixth position in the Moto2 rankings.
