Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and Jingyuan County in Gansu province announced on Monday that special task forces have been established to probe into the activities.
"Golmud officials stated that the findings of the investigation and the management of the case will be disclosed to the public promptly."
"Individuals accountable for the violations will face strict penalties in accordance with the law."
The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
