Contractual Clauses and Team Uncertainties: The Complex Future of Fermin Aldeguer in MotoGP
Ducati's remaining asset asserts confidently that his contract entitles him to ride a GP26. New information from Fermin Aldeguer's manager suggests intriguing upcoming developments.
The exact future of Fermin Aldeguer remains uncertain, despite the fact that he is guaranteed a promotion to MotoGP with a Ducati next year.
The specific team that the Moto2 teenager will join remains unannounced.
Pramac has yet to decide if they will continue their partnership with Ducati, which provides them with factory-level equipment, or switch to Yamaha. As a result, Aldeguer's placement remains uncertain.
Gresini and VR46 have confirmed that they will continue their partnership with Ducati for the upcoming year.
Nevertheless, Aldeguer's manager has assured that they have secured an agreement which guarantees them specific privileges from Ducati.
"We've entered into a 2+2 agreement," Hector Faubel explained to Mundo Deportivo.
"We are guaranteed two secure years, with an additional two years dependent on meeting certain goals."
According to my perspective, they seem to be reasonably priced due to their capabilities in MotoGP.
According to the agreement, during the first year, he will have the option to ride either a Desmosedici GP24 or a GP25, based on Ducati's decision.
"In his second year, he will definitely choose the GP26."
This indicates that Aldeguer might start his first season in the premier class next year with either Gresini or VR46, using equipment from the previous year.
The excitement builds around the next year as Aldeguer’s manager claims they are promised a factory-spec motorcycle.
Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, who are factory riders, have agreements in place to race the GP26 motorcycles as well.
What happens if Pramac decides not to continue its partnership with Ducati? At the moment, the focus is on which team Aldeguer will move to for the next season.
“We remain uncertain about which team he will join,” stated Faubel.
“However, Ducati has advised us to remain very composed.”
"They informed us that they have chosen him and that we belong to the family."
Could Ducati attempt to postpone Aldeguer's entry into MotoGP if they end up losing their Pramac team to Yamaha?
According to Faubel, reports indicate that if Ducati informs him he won't be riding the bike next year, he would be entitled to a compensation of 300,000 euros.
"It's not true. I can't give the exact figure, but it's significantly greater."
Faubel mentioned regarding Aldeguer: "He believes he is prepared to advance and is very self-assured."
Aldeguer holds the sixth position in the Moto2 rankings.
