Baidu-Backed Jiyue Aims for Turnaround in China’s Premium EV Market with Second Model Launch and Self-Driving Tech
Jiyue, supported by Baidu, is striving for success in China's high-end electric vehicle market with the introduction of its second model. The company is relying on its autonomous driving technology to secure a position among leading manufacturers, following the mediocre sales performance of its debut model.
The commencement of presales kicked off on Wednesday night. The corporation is set to reveal specifics about the sedan and its incorporated technologies at a premiere event slated for September 10.
"Jiyue is counting on its second manufactured vehicle to boost its sales," stated Eric Han, a high-ranking executive at Suolei, a consultancy company based in Shanghai. "Considering the advanced technologies and backing from tech giant Baidu, there's a necessity for the company's performance to step up, especially in light of the disappointing sales figures of the Jiyue 01."
Jiyue doesn't release its shipping information. It's not featured among the top 10 electric vehicle manufacturers in China based on monthly sales, according to the China Passenger Car Association.
