Alex Rins Eyes 2025 Yamaha Deal Amidst Uncertain Future: Talks Planned But No Offers Yet
Alex Rins discloses upcoming discussions with Yamaha, although no concrete offers have been made. Rins mentions that negotiations with Yamaha about a potential contract for 2025 are on the horizon.
Alex Rins, who has won six MotoGP races, is now in his debut year with Yamaha, having switched to the Japanese manufacturer from Honda.
Facing challenges in holding his place during races, Rins has recently demonstrated a knack for maximizing his M1's performance during qualifying sessions, while Yamaha strives to catch up with competitors such as Ducati, Aprilia, and KTM.
Yamaha has already communicated with Fabio Quartararo following their agreement on a substantial two-year contract valued at 12 million Euros.
Attention has now shifted to finalizing the second spot at Yamaha, with Rins appearing to be in a strong position to continue as Quartararo's teammate.
Should Yamaha succeed in enticing Pramac away from Ducati to operate a pair of satellite bikes, it might influence their decision on the rider for the second factory position.
Following the Italian MotoGP at Mugello, Rins disclosed that discussions are set to occur regarding the renewal of their contract.
Although Rins has faced numerous injuries in recent seasons, the ex-Suzuki rider remains as determined as ever.
Actually, the champion who has raced with Suzuki and Honda aims to stay in MotoGP for many more years.
When questioned about whether his enthusiasm for competing at the highest level of MotoGP has diminished, Rins responded, "To be honest, it hasn't. I'm still the same Alex with the same drive as before."
"I'm excited about what the next year holds. We plan to have discussions with Yamaha, but no concrete plans have been made yet. We'll see how things unfold."
