Yamaha Announces Paolo Pavesio as Successor to Lin Jarvis; Transition Set for 2025
Yamaha has announced that Paolo Pavesio will take over as managing director in 2025, succeeding Lin Jarvis.
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to subsequent world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is taking over from Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year role as Yamaha's leader.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak years of the Japanese company with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will stay on as a Senior Advisor at Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed gratitude both personally and on behalf of Yamaha for Lin's 26 years of dedication and accomplishments.
"His dedication, hard work, and guidance have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Lin's position as Managing Director will be taken over by Paolo Pavesio. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his time at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP as the Marketing and Motorsport Director.
"I am eagerly anticipating Paolo's arrival at YMR in January. I believe that with his guidance, Yamaha can achieve the MotoGP success we are all working towards."
