Paolo Pavesio appointed as managing director starting in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport division, leading to victories in the World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP world championships.
Pavesio will take over from Jarvis, who has been the head of Yamaha for 26 years and is now stepping
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight rider championships, six constructor championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, along with their latest championship win featuring Fabio Quartararo.
Jarvis will step down from his role as managing director, but he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor at Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of Yamaha's Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of dedication and accomplishments, both on a personal level and on behalf of Yamaha.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha’s achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise in the future."
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over from Lin as Managing Director. Pavesio, who previously served as Marketing and Motorsport Director at YME, has an extensive background that includes leading Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am excited about Paolo joining YMR in January and believe that with his leadership, Yamaha can achieve the future success in MotoGP that we are all aiming for."
