Valentino Rossi Takes a Historic Spin: Riding Eddie Lawson’s Iconic YZR500 and Yamaha Superbike at Jerez
Valentino Rossi took to the track in Jerez, riding Eddie Lawson's legendary motorcycle as well as a Yamaha WSBK bike.
During a Yamaha Racing Heritage Club event at Jerez, Valentino Rossi had the opportunity to take Eddie Lawson’s 1987 Yamaha YZR500 for a spin.
Lawson's iconic motorcycle secured the third position in the 500cc World Championship.

Nine-time world champion Rossi teamed up with Yamaha World Superbike competitors, including six-time champion Jonathan Rea.
Rea had the opportunity to ride the Yamaha TZ750, the motorcycle on which Giacomo Agostini, a 15-time world champion, achieved his last victory in 1977.
The rider from Northern Ireland had the opportunity to join Rossi on the track, with both riding Eddie Lawson's Yamaha YZR500 bikes from 1987 and 1990.

During the Yamaha Racing Experience event, Rossi had the opportunity to test Remy Gardner's 2024 GRT Yamaha R1 Superbike.
