Unfazed Confidence: Ducati’s Tardozzi Dismisses Concerns Over Bagnaia-Marquez Partnership Amidst High-Stakes MotoGP Line-up
Davide Tardozzi expresses confidence, stating that Ducati has no concerns about Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez being in the same team.
Next season will feature one of the most remarkable MotoGP line-ups ever, with Marc Marquez joining the factory Ducati team alongside Francesco Bagnaia.
The duo collectively holds nine premier class titles, with Bagnaia securing the most recent two championships.
In 2024, Bagnaia and Marquez have already had a collision while riding Ducati motorcycles for separate teams.
Being on the same team is bound to elevate their fierce competition, particularly since they are both contenders for the championship.
Tardozzi is not concerned about any potential issues this might create. While talking to Simon Crafar in the pit lane, he remarked, “There is no concern whatsoever. Both riders are incredibly fast, skilled champions, and highly intelligent. We have complete confidence in them, so we have no worries about this situation.”
Tardozzi was questioned about Ducati's choice that forced them to pick one rider and risk losing two, which is precisely what happened.
In 2025, Jorge Martin is set to move from Pramac Ducati to Aprilia, and Bastianini will join the Tech 3 KTM team.
Tardozzi mentioned that deciding which two out of Jorge, Enea, and Marc would have to leave was extremely challenging. However, they ultimately had to make the tough call as there was only one spot available on the red team.
"We believe that Marc is doing an excellent job with the 2023 bike and has demonstrated something that has left us impressed. Therefore, we decided to proceed accordingly."
