Honda has been advised to go after the "new and open-minded" Toprak Razgatlioglu.
"If I were Honda, Toprak would be one of the first names on my list."
Honda has received recommendations to include Toprak Razgatlioglu in their MotoGP team.
In the most recent episode of the Crash MotoGP podcast, there was a thorough discussion about what lies ahead for the BMW rider in the World Superbikes series.

Kenan Sofuoglu, the manager of Razgatlioglu, created a buzz by stating their intention to move from WSBK to MotoGP in 2025.
Peter McLaren mentioned on the Crash MotoGP podcast that if he were in charge at Honda, Toprak would be one of the first names he would consider.
"The skill is present and there's a readiness to tackle a challenging task."
"Possibly a two-time World Superbike (WSBK) champion, he would join MotoGP with a clean slate, without any preconceived notions about how his previous bike performed compared to the new one."
"He will simply hop on the bike and declare ‘this is how I want it to perform’, and then push it to its limits. Just like he does with the BMW."
"Honda already has excellent, proven riders who have won races."
“I believe it wouldn’t hurt to get someone new. It combines the advantages of having a beginner who also has extensive experience in handling projects.”
"The BMW presents some challenges, yet he manages to handle it effectively."
"Honda is currently undergoing a period of reconstruction with Joan Mir."
"This marks the beginning of a new era as it is the first year without Marc Marquez."
"They are not aiming to create a bike tailored specifically for this extraordinary, unique talent."
"Honda is developing a motorcycle that can accommodate multiple riders, addressing long-standing calls for the company to diversify beyond just relying on Marc."
"They are just beginning that journey. This scenario is completely different from the past, where the priority was to satisfy that individual and provide the exceptionally gifted person with everything they desired."
"That idea is now obsolete. Ducati must adopt a contemporary strategy by paying attention to each rider to accommodate various riding styles."
MotoGP is the antithesis of Toprak's approach
Razgatlioglu had a near miss with MotoGP previously, but it didn't work out.
He tried out Yamaha’s MotoGP motorcycle, but it appears he didn't perform well enough to persuade them to sign him.
After parting ways with Yamaha's World Superbike (WSBK) team, he has joined forces with BMW and is now a strong contender for the championship this season.
McLaren commented on the potential move of Razgatlioglu to MotoGP, noting that it would remain a significant gamble. He mentioned that Razgatlioglu had tested the M1 bike, but it did not suit his way of riding.
"We understand the significance of utilizing the rear tire and rear grip for braking, which contrasts with Toprak's remarkable technique."
"In several respects, it would resemble Marquez's transition to riding a Ducati. He was known for his 'rear wheel off the ground' style!"
“He’s currently figuring out how to take advantage of the added traction.”
"Toprak would need to follow that procedure, and I am confident he can succeed."
“If his management team is enthusiastic and he is considering this move, it could be a significant development for MotoGP.”
His astute manager took a comparable action during his racing days and will recognize the potential challenges if they misstep.
"Keenan, who had won the Supersport title, moved on to compete in Moto2," McLaren remembered.
"He understands the challenges of competing in the grand prix paddock without top-tier equipment."
"He has emphasized that Toprak requires a team backed by a factory. Such teams are limited in number, but Yamaha has one."
"After trying out the bike and parting ways with them before, returning would be a huge deal."
"Honda? People are well aware of Honda's capabilities. The issue lies in the timeline."
"But what if they give it their all? And they manage to capture Toprak?"
"It would be an incredible achievement for Honda. And if Toprak manages to turn things around, it would truly cement his legendary status!"
"There is a strong argument for Toprak remaining in World Superbike and achieving legendary status similar to Jonny Rea, potentially becoming the greatest of all time."
