Rosberg Advises Verstappen to Focus on Championship Amid Swearing Controversy
Max Verstappen advised to halt expending effort on profanity controversy
"He's expending his effort unnecessarily on this matter. His complete attention is required"
Nico Rosberg has suggested Max Verstappen should cease expending effort opposing his censure for using profane language.
At the F1 Singapore Grand Prix held last weekend, Verstappen faced criticism for using explicit language to describe his Red Bull during the pre-event press conference.
He was assigned community service by the FIA as a penalty for his use of offensive language, and he has clearly expressed his dissatisfaction.
Rosberg conveyed to Sky Sports, "It's a situation with two perspectives. From one angle, my children are observing.
Conversely, our desire is for them to embody the spirit of warriors, openly expressing their feelings.
"Regardless, censor it and allow them to express their feelings. It's crucial for everyone observing."
Being in Max's situation wouldn't be ideal for me, as it seems he's expending his effort unnecessarily.
"He requires complete concentration. Currently, he's competing for the global championship."
"He's struggling with it a lot, which isn't ideal."
Verstappen openly expressed his dissatisfaction through multiple demonstrations in Singapore.
In his subsequent media briefing following the qualification, he provided only short responses before feigning a voice issue that prevented him from continuing to speak.
Verstappen engaged in deeper conversations with journalists outside of the formal press conference setting.
Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton stepped in to support Verstappen by expressing their disagreement with the rebuke he received.
Hamilton labeled the penalty as "ridiculous" and encouraged Verstappen to defy it.
Currently, his troubles extend beyond just the off-track antics.
Rosberg cautioned that Verstappen is engaged in a struggle to keep his F1 championship title.
Norris' recent performance has reduced Verstappen's advantage to 52 points in the overall leaderboard.
If Verstappen secures the second-place position, trailing behind Norris, in all the remaining grand prix and sprint races until the season concludes, he will claim the championship title for the fourth consecutive year.
