Pramac Yamaha 2025 Rider Speculation: Iannone a Possibility, Toprak Ruled Out
Toprak joining Pramac Yamaha? “Definitely not.”
The owner of Pramac was questioned about the possibility of Andrea Iannone or Toprak Razgatlioglu riding the team's factory Yamaha bikes in 2025.
Following Pramac's confirmed transition from Ducati to Yamaha in MotoGP, the focus shifts to identifying the riders for the factory-spec M1 bikes for the upcoming season.
Pramac's current racer, Jorge Martin, is no longer a contender after securing a contract with Aprilia. Meanwhile, his teammate, Franco Morbidelli, is considered very unlikely to seek a comeback to the team he departed at the conclusion of the previous season.
This means that former Pramac rider Jack Miller and young Italian Fabio di Giannantonio are possible options, though surprisingly, names like Andrea Iannone and Toprak Razgatlioglu have also been mentioned in the rumors.
In a statement to MotoGP.com, team owner Paolo Campinoti revealed, "We've recently made a significant decision to switch from Ducati to Yamaha, so we haven't considered our choice of riders yet. We will evaluate our options in the upcoming weeks and make a decision. Our goal is to secure the best riders available to ensure the success of this project."
When asked about the surprising potential comeback of former Pramac racer Andrea Iannone to MotoGP, who has resumed his career in World Superbike this season following a four-year suspension for anti-doping, Campinoti responded:
"I have a close personal relationship with him, but I don't want to create any false expectations. If Yamaha decides to let him test the bike, I would be very pleased. However, the final decision isn't mine to make."
However, Campinoti dismissed the possibility of Razgatlioglu, the current leader of the BMW WorldSBK championship.
"I believe that's merely… it's just hearsay."
Do you believe that is unlikely to occur?
"Absolutely, without a doubt."
Razgatlioglu tried out the M1 two times last year, but he didn't seem at ease with the bike and later switched from Yamaha to BMW.
