**Pramac Set to Switch Gears: Yamaha Partnership on the Horizon for 2025 MotoGP Season**
Pramac rumored to leave Ducati for Yamaha
Could Pramac switch to Yamaha bikes for the 2025 MotoGP season?
According to recent reports, Pramac is expected to part ways with Ducati and transition to becoming Yamaha's satellite MotoGP team starting in 2025, following months of rumors.
SkySports.it reports that everything is ready except for the official announcement, which is anticipated to occur during this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix in Assen.
Pramac informed Crash.net that the recent chatter is just "rumors".
Recent speculation arises shortly after Jorge Martin, the current championship leader, signed with Aprilia. This comes in the wake of Marc Marquez rejecting a potential move to Pramac and subsequently being chosen over Martin for a spot on the factory Ducati team.
Yamaha has not had a secondary MotoGP team since RNF, which is currently known as Trackhouse, moved to Aprilia in 2022.
Should the Pramac-Yamaha agreement be finalized, it would result in two factory-spec 2025 Desmosedici bikes being reassigned to the VR46 and/or Gresini teams for the next season.
Moto2 standout Fermin Aldeguer, who is contracted with Ducati but currently lacks a team, will also require placement.
Pramac may require two fresh riders for an M1 initiative, as it's improbable that Franco Morbidelli, who currently partners with Martin and departed from Yamaha last season, would be interested in rejoining the Yamaha team.
However, ex-Pramac racer Jack Miller, who is no longer with KTM, might be one of the potential leaders for the new initiative.
In the meantime, Morbidelli might replace Marco Bezzecchi, his fellow Academy rider, at VR46, as Bezzecchi has secured a factory seat with Aprilia for the 2025 season.
