Pramac Set to Switch Allegiances from Ducati to Yamaha for MotoGP 2025: A Groundbreaking Move Awaiting Official Confirmation
Pramac expected to leave Ducati for Yamaha
Pramac opts for Yamaha equipment in MotoGP 2025?
Following a period of rumors, it's said that Pramac is preparing to part ways with Ducati to join Yamaha as their new satellite MotoGP team starting in 2025.
According to SkySports.it, the only thing pending is the formal declaration. This announcement is anticipated to take place at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen this weekend.
Pramac conveyed to Crash.net that the recent speculation is merely "rumors".
Recent speculation comes closely after Jorge Martin, who is at the forefront in the championship standings, inked a deal with Aprilia. This development occurred shortly after Marc Marquez openly declined Pramac as a choice and subsequently got selected over Martin for the prime Ducati team position.
Yamaha has been without a partner MotoGP team since RNF (currently known as Trackhouse) transitioned to Aprilia in 2022.
Should the Pramac-Yamaha agreement be finalized, it would consequently result in two 2025 Desmosedici bikes of factory specification being reallocated to either VR46, Gresini, or both teams in the upcoming season.
Moto2 sensation Fermin Aldeguer, who has secured a contract with Ducati but lacks a racing team, also requires placement.
Pramac is likely in the market for a pair of fresh faces to join their M1 initiative, as Franco Morbidelli, Martin's current co-rider, seems disinclined to rejoin Yamaha, the team he parted ways with after the previous season concluded.
Ex-Pramac competitor Jack Miller, who is no longer with KTM, might be considered a leading contender for the upcoming initiative.
In the meantime, Morbidelli might step into the position left by fellow Academy member Marco Bezzecchi at VR46, following Bezzecchi's confirmation of a factory Aprilia seat for the 2025 season.
