Pecco Bagnaia ‘Quite in Pain’ Following Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez, Faces Race Against Time for Misano
Pecco Bagnaia is experiencing significant pain following a collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP, specifically citing discomfort in his neck and shoulder.
Francesco Bagnaia has provided information about the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during last weekend's Aragon MotoGP.
The two riders collided when Marquez went off track at turn 12 during the 18th lap of the Grand Prix. Bagnaia, who began the race in third place but fell to seventh due to a slow start, was working his way up the field and seemed poised to claim the final podium spot from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez’s mistake at turn 12, but roughly a hundred meters later at turn 13, a collision between them resulted in both being eliminated from the race.
Bagnaia experienced an uncomfortable tumble beneath Marquez's bike and subsequently headed to the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned that he was experiencing "pain in my neck," but he also noted that "it could be much worse, so it's okay."

In an Instagram story update about the accident, Bagnaia mentioned that he is experiencing pain in his left shoulder.
In his statement, Bagnaia explained that he seized the opportunity when Alex Marquez went wide, allowing him to overtake. He then took a wider line into the following corner, aware of another rider's presence. Bagnaia expressed regret over the outcome, noting that it had already been a challenging weekend.
"Following another challenging beginning caused by the difficult conditions at that grid position, I managed to stage a strong recovery and was significantly faster. Currently, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it appears that there are no fractures."
"We're committed to reaching peak fitness for Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his physical condition before the practice sessions for his home race start. This scenario is quite similar to what he experienced last year when he had an accident at the Catalan Grand Prix and came to Misano with leg injuries.
Last year, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix, even though he was dealing with injuries. However, the impact of his crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano will only become evident once practice sessions start on Friday morning.
