Pecco Bagnaia Faces Painful Recovery After Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia "in considerable pain" following collision with Alex Marquez at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder after his incident with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has described the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
The two riders came into contact when Marquez went off line at turn 12 during the 18th lap of the Grand Prix. Bagnaia, who had begun the race in third position but fell to seventh due to a slow start, was working his way up the ranks and appeared poised to overtake Marquez for the third-place podium finish.
An error by Marquez at turn 12 gave the Italian an opportunity to overtake a short distance later at turn 13, but a collision between them caused both racers to be eliminated from the competition.
Bagnaia experienced a difficult tumble beneath Marquez's bike and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain," but he also noted, "it could be far more severe, so it's manageable."

In an Instagram story, Bagnaia explained the crash and mentioned that his left shoulder was hurting.
Bagnaia expressed that he capitalized on Alex Marquez's wide turn to overtake him and then approached the next corner with a wider line, aware of another rider's presence. Unfortunately, the outcome was disappointing, especially considering the challenges faced throughout the weekend.
"Following another challenging beginning caused by the difficult conditions at that particular grid position, I managed to stage a strong recovery and was significantly faster. At the moment, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it seems that nothing is broken."
"We will strive to be in top shape for Misano."
With the San Marino Grand Prix approaching this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his physical condition before practice sessions start for his home race. This scenario is quite similar to last year when he had an accident at the Catalan Grand Prix and came to Misano with leg injuries.
Last year, despite dealing with injuries, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix events. However, the impact of his crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano will only become evident once practice sessions begin on Friday morning.
