Pecco Bagnaia Battles Through Pain After Aragon MotoGP Crash Ahead of Crucial San Marino GP
Pecco Bagnaia is experiencing significant pain following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP, with injuries reported to his neck and shoulder.
Francesco Bagnaia has provided specifics about the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
During the 18th lap of the Grand Prix, Marquez veered off at turn 12, leading to a collision with Bagnaia. Initially starting in third position, Bagnaia fell to seventh due to a bad start but was recovering and appeared poised to overtake Marquez for the final podium spot.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez's mistake at turn 12 shortly after, around a hundred meters later at turn 13. However, the collision between them resulted in both riders being forced out of the race.
Bagnaia experienced an uncomfortable tumble under Marquez's motorcycle and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain," but noted that "it could be far more severe, so it's manageable."

In an Instagram story where he discussed the accident, Bagnaia mentioned that his left shoulder was hurting.
In his statement, Bagnaia explained that he seized the opportunity when Alex Marquez went wide, allowing him to overtake and approach the next corner with a wider trajectory, aware of the presence of another rider. He expressed regret over the outcome, especially given the challenging weekend they had already faced.
"Following another challenging beginning because of the difficult grid position, I was making a strong recovery and was significantly faster. At the moment, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it appears that nothing is broken."
"We will strive to be in peak condition for Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has a mere four days to regain his physical condition before practice sessions start for his home race. This scenario is reminiscent of last year, when he experienced a crash at the Catalan Grand Prix and showed up at Misano nursing leg injuries.
Despite his injuries, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix last year. However, the impact of his recent crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano will only become evident once practice begins on Friday morning.
