Pecco Bagnaia Battles Painful Injuries Ahead of Misano After Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia "in significant discomfort" following collision with Alex Marquez in Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia reported experiencing neck and shoulder pain after his accident with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has provided specifics about the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
The pair collided when Marquez veered off course at turn 12 on the 18th lap of the Grand Prix. Bagnaia, who had begun the race in third place but fell to seventh due to a slow start, was working his way back up the ranks and seemed poised to claim the last spot on the podium from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez’s mistake at turn 12, moving to overtake him about a hundred meters later at turn 13. However, their collision resulted in both competitors being forced to exit the race.
Bagnaia had an uncomfortable tumble under Marquez's bike and later visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned he had "neck pain," but noted that "it could be a lot worse, so it's manageable."

In a message shared on his Instagram story to clarify the incident, Bagnaia mentioned that he was experiencing discomfort in his left shoulder.
Bagnaia explained that he seized the opportunity when Alex Marquez went wide, allowing him to overtake and approach the next corner on a wider line, aware of another rider's presence. He expressed regret that the situation turned out poorly, especially since the weekend had already been challenging.
"Following yet another challenging beginning because of the difficult conditions at that grid position, I managed to stage a solid recovery and my pace improved significantly. Currently, I'm experiencing quite a bit of pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it seems that there are no fractures."
“We aim to be in top condition for the race at Misano.”
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has a mere four days to regain his fitness before practice sessions commence for his home event. This scenario is reminiscent of last year, when he suffered a crash at the Catalan Grand Prix and showed up at Misano nursing leg injuries.
Last year, despite his injuries, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix events. However, it remains uncertain how his recent crash in Aragon will impact his performance in Misano until practice begins on Friday morning.
