Pecco Bagnaia Battles Neck and Shoulder Pain Following Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia "in significant discomfort" following Alex Marquez crash at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia has reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder after his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has shared information about the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
On the 18th lap of the Grand Prix, Marquez went wide at turn 12, leading to a collision between the two racers. Bagnaia, who had initially started in third place but fell to seventh due to a slow start, was working his way up the field and seemed poised to claim the final podium position from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez's mistake at turn 12 by making a move roughly a hundred meters later at turn 13. However, a collision between them resulted in both riders being eliminated from the race.
Bagnaia experienced an uncomfortable tumble beneath Marquez's bike and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain," but he also noted that "it could be a lot worse, so it's manageable."

In an Instagram story, Bagnaia explained the crash and mentioned that he was experiencing pain in his left shoulder.
Bagnaia explained that he capitalized on Alex Marquez’s wide turn to pass him and then took a wider line into the following corner, aware of another rider's presence. He expressed regret over how things turned out, noting that the weekend had already been challenging.
"Following yet another challenging beginning caused by the difficult conditions at that position on the grid, I managed to stage a strong recovery and was significantly faster. At the moment, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it appears that nothing is fractured."
“We'll strive to be in top shape for Misano.”
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his physical condition before the practice sessions start for his home race. This scenario is quite similar to last year when he had an accident at the Catalan Grand Prix and came to Misano with injuries to his leg.
Last year, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix, even though he was injured. However, the impact of his recent crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano will only become evident once practice sessions start on Friday morning.
