Pecco Bagnaia Battles Neck and Shoulder Pain After Collision with Alex Marquez at Aragon MotoGP
Pecco Bagnaia is experiencing significant pain following a collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP. Bagnaia reported discomfort in his neck and shoulder as a result of the incident.
Francesco Bagnaia has described the injuries he is suffering from following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
During the 18th lap of the Grand Prix, Marquez went wide at turn 12, leading to contact with another rider. Bagnaia, who had started in third position but fell to seventh due to a bad start, was climbing back up through the field and seemed poised to snatch the last podium spot from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez’s mistake at turn 12, but when they both reached turn 13, they collided and were forced out of the race.
Bagnaia experienced a difficult fall under Marquez's bike and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain," but he also noted that "it could be far worse, so it's manageable."

In an Instagram story, Bagnaia clarified the details of the crash and mentioned that his left shoulder was in pain.
Bagnaia explained that he seized the opportunity when Alex Marquez went wide, allowing him to overtake. He also took a wider line into the next corner, aware of another rider nearby. Unfortunately, it was disappointing how things turned out, especially after an already challenging weekend.
"Following another challenging beginning because of the difficult conditions at that part of the grid, I managed to make a strong recovery and my pace was significantly faster. At the moment, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it appears that nothing is fractured."
“We’ll strive to be in top shape for Misano.”
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his fitness before practice sessions start for his home race. This scenario is quite similar to last year when he experienced a crash at the Catalan Grand Prix and showed up at Misano with injuries to his leg.
Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix last year, even though he was injured. However, the impact of his recent crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano will only become evident once practice starts on Friday morning.
