Pecco Bagnaia Battles Neck and Shoulder Pain After Aragon MotoGP Collision with Alex Marquez, Eyes San Marino Comeback
Pecco Bagnaia "in significant pain" following Alex Marquez collision at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder after his crash with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has shared information about the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
On lap 18 of the Grand Prix, Marquez went off the track at turn 12, leading to an encounter between the two riders. Bagnaia, who had begun the race in third position but had slipped to seventh due to a slow start, was working his way up through the field and appeared poised to snatch the last podium spot from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez's mistake at turn 12 by making a move about a hundred meters later at turn 13. However, their collision resulted in both racers being eliminated from the competition.
Bagnaia experienced a difficult fall beneath Marquez's bike and later visited the medical center for evaluation.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain" but noted that "it could be significantly worse, so it's manageable."

In an Instagram story where he detailed the incident, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing discomfort in his left shoulder.
Bagnaia explained that he capitalized on Alex Marquez's wide turn to overtake him and then approached the following corner with a wider line, aware of another rider's presence. He expressed regret that the situation unfolded the way it did, especially considering it had already been a challenging weekend.
"Following a challenging beginning, caused by the difficult conditions in that section of the grid, I managed to stage a strong recovery. I was significantly faster. At the moment, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it doesn't appear that anything is fractured."
"We will strive to be in top shape for Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has a mere four days to regain his physical fitness before practice sessions start for his home race. This scenario is quite similar to last year when he faced a crash at the Catalan Grand Prix and showed up at Misano with injuries to his leg.
Last year, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix races, even though he was dealing with injuries. However, the impact of his recent crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano won't be known until practice starts on Friday morning.
