Pecco Bagnaia Battles Neck and Shoulder Injuries After Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez, Eyes Recovery for Misano
Pecco Bagnaia Experiences Significant Pain Following Collision with Alex Marquez at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder after being involved in a crash with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has described the injuries he is coping with following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
The pair collided when Marquez went off the track at turn 12 during the 18th lap of the Grand Prix. Bagnaia, initially starting in third place but falling to seventh due to a slow start, was advancing through the racers and appeared on track to snatch the last podium position from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez's mistake at turn 12 by making a move at turn 13, about a hundred meters down the track. However, their collision caused both of them to crash out of the race.
Specifically, Bagnaia experienced a difficult tumble under Marquez's bike and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "pain in my neck," but noted that "it could be much worse, so it's okay."

In an Instagram story, Bagnaia explained the crash and mentioned that he was experiencing pain in his left shoulder.
Bagnaia explained that he capitalized on Alex Marquez's mistake of going wide to overtake him and took a wider line into the next corner, aware of another rider nearby. He expressed regret that the situation turned out poorly, especially after an already challenging weekend.
"Following yet another challenging beginning, primarily because of the difficult conditions at that particular grid position, I managed to stage a strong recovery and picked up significant speed. Currently, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it seems that nothing is fractured."
"We will strive to be in peak physical condition for Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his physical condition before practice starts for his home race. This scenario is quite similar to last year when he had an accident at the Catalan Grand Prix and came to Misano with leg injuries.
Last year, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix races, despite dealing with injuries. However, the impact of his recent crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano won't be evident until practice sessions start on Friday morning.
