Yamaha announces new managing director to succeed Lin Jarvis
Paolo Pavesio is set to take on the role in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Before, he served as the Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport division, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.

Under Jarvis's leadership, Yamaha secured eight rider championships, six constructor championships, and seven team championships. He guided the Japanese company through its golden era with riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also managed their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor at Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude both personally and on Yamaha's behalf for Lin's commitment and accomplishments throughout the last 26 years.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future.
Lin's successor as Managing Director will be Paolo Pavesio. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his tenure at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director. During his time there, he led Yamaha teams to secure World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
