Paolo Pavesio to Succeed Lin Jarvis as Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director in 2025
Yamaha has announced that Paolo Pavesio will take over as managing director in 2025, succeeding Lin Jarvis.
Paolo Pavesio has taken over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio will take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport division that subsequently secured world championships in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will be taking over from Jarvis, who has led Yamaha for 26 years and is now stepping down.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods for the Japanese company with stars like Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, in addition to their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
While Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of dedication and accomplishments, both personally and on behalf of Yamaha.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I'm pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Paolo Pavesio will take over as Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio has extensive experience from his time at YME, where he served as Marketing and Motorsport Director, leading Yamaha teams to win World Championships in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I eagerly anticipate Paolo joining YMR this January. With him at the helm, I believe Yamaha can achieve the MotoGP success we're all aiming for."
