Paolo Pavesio to Succeed Lin Jarvis as Yamaha Managing Director in 2025
Yamaha has announced that Paolo Pavesio will take over as managing director in 2025, replacing Lin Jarvis.
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Before, he held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department. This led to the team securing world championships in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is taking over from Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year leadership at Yamaha.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight rider championships, six constructor championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with stars Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his position as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed gratitude to Lin for his commitment and accomplishments over the last 26 years, speaking both for himself and for Yamaha.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over from Lin as Managing Director. Pavesio has a rich background from his time at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP while serving as the Marketing and Motorsport Director.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR this January and believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the future success in MotoGP that we are all aiming for."
