Yamaha announces successor for Lin Jarvis
Paolo Pavesio to take over as managing director in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has taken over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
On January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Formerly, he served as the Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to subsequent world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is set to succeed Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year leadership at Yamaha.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight championships for riders, six for constructors, and seven for teams. He managed the peak periods for the Japanese brand, highlighted by the successes of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor for Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, who is the General Manager of Yamaha's Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of commitment and accomplishments, both on a personal level and as a representative of Yamaha.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future.
Paolo Pavesio will take over from Lin as Managing Director. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his time at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director. During his tenure, he led Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR in January, and with him at the helm, I am certain that Yamaha will achieve the future success in MotoGP that we all aim for."
