Paolo Pavesio is set to take over as managing director in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He once held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is set to take over from Jarvis, who has led Yamaha for 26 years and is now stepping down
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight championships for individual riders, six for constructors, and seven for teams. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with stars such as Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, along with their latest triumph with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve Yamaha as a Senior Advisor.
Takahiro Sumi, the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of commitment and accomplishments, both personally and on behalf of Yamaha.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his time at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP as the Marketing and Motorsport Director.
"I am eagerly anticipating Paolo's arrival at YMR in January, and I believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the future success in MotoGP that we are all aiming for."
