Miguel Oliveira Eyes Factory Bike as MotoGP Future Hangs in the Balance Amid Talks with Multiple Brands
Miguel Oliveira is negotiating with different manufacturers as he seeks a "factory bike" or an equivalent option for his future.
Miguel Oliveira is among a number of racers currently facing challenges as he seeks to secure his future in MotoGP.
In recent races, Oliveira has regularly been the fourth quickest among the Aprilia riders, and a switch from Trackhouse Racing might be possible.
Jack Miller might move from KTM to Gresini Ducati, a team that has also been associated with the Portuguese racer.
The establishment of the new Pramac Yamaha team might present an opportunity for Oliveira.
Should Oliveira move to either Gresini or Pramac, it would mark his debut with a new manufacturer after his previous MotoGP stints with KTM and Aprilia.
While talking about his future at Assen, Oliveira mentioned, "In my opinion, the best strategy is to aim for a position that offers a factory bike along with substantial technical support."
"If I can achieve that, I believe I will be quite pleased. Right now, everything is going smoothly at Trackhouse."
"We're moving in a direction that I prefer, but I'm also in discussions with other companies to see if their plans suit me. It will take a few weeks to make a decision about my next steps."
Oliveira's future might also be affected by the developments regarding Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is now a contender for a spot on the Pramac Yamaha team.
Should Di Giannantonio stay with VR46, Oliveira might consider Gresini or Pramac as viable alternatives if he departs from Trackhouse.
