Miguel Oliveira Eyes Factory Bike Ambitions Amid Talks with Multiple Brands for MotoGP Future
Miguel Oliveira is in discussions with different manufacturers, seeking a "factory bike" or equivalent, as he evaluates his options moving forward.
Miguel Oliveira is among various competitors currently facing challenges as he seeks to secure his future in MotoGP.
Oliveira has regularly secured the position as the fourth quickest Aprilia racer in the latest events, indicating that a departure from Trackhouse Racing may be imminent.
Jack Miller is rumored to be transferring from KTM to Gresini Ducati, a squad that is reportedly also considering signing the rider from Portugal.
The emergence of the new Pramac Yamaha team might also pave the way for Oliveira to join.
Should Oliveira sign with Gresini or Pramac, it would mark his debut with a new manufacturer, after previous stints in MotoGP with KTM and Aprilia.
Talking about his prospects at Assen, Oliveira mentioned, "I believe the smart strategy is to aim for a position akin to a factory seat, which means having a factory bike accompanied by substantial technical assistance."
"Securing that would likely bring me immense satisfaction, especially given the current positive dynamics at Trackhouse."
"We're moving towards an outcome that appeals to me, yet it's accurate to say that I'm in discussions with different companies to see if there's a potential match with their plans. Deciding on my next steps will take a few weeks."
Oliveira's career prospects may also depend on the developments surrounding Fabio Di Giannantonio, who has similarly become a contender for a spot with Pramac Yamaha.
Should Di Giannantonio continue with VR46, Oliveira might consider Gresini or Pramac as viable alternatives if he decides to part ways with Trackhouse.
