Marquez Triumphs in Aragon MotoGP Grand Prix, Bagnaia Crashes Out in Dramatic Clash
Marc Marquez showcased his supremacy at the Aragon MotoGP Grand Prix, maintaining the lead from start to finish, while Pecco Bagnaia's race ended early due to a collision with Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix in the MotoGP series, Marc Marquez secured his initial Grand Prix win after more than 1,000 days, achieving it in a commanding manner.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased remarkable speed and ultimately secured the victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin widened his lead in the championship to 23 points by securing second place, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash during a collision with Alex Marquez, who also fell during the incident.
Bagnaia was making his way up the ranks, having initially lost traction with his rear tyre on the less clean part of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh position at the outset, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's crash, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and then secured fourth place by pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at turn 16.
Several circuits were completed before they managed to close in on Marques, who veered off course at turn 12, providing Bagnaia with the opportunity to overtake him entering turn 13. However, when Bagnaia maneuvered into turn 13, he collided with Marquez, causing both to crash.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical facility, however, there has been no information released regarding his status.
The collision between them elevated Pedro Acosta to the third position, though he was nearly 15 seconds away from the leader.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth place from a 14th-place start. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth, leading Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales withdrew from the race as well.
Investigations were initiated after the race concerning Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez regarding the pressure of their front tyres.
