Marc Marquez showcased a commanding performance, taking the lead from the start to finish at the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, while Pecco Bagnaia's race ended early due to a collision with Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix of MotoGP, Marc Marquez secured his initial Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving it in a commanding manner.
Dominating from the start to the finish, Marquez showcased outstanding speed and ultimately secured the victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by securing second place, following an incident in which Francesco Bagnaia was taken out of the race due to a collision with Alex Marquez, who also went down in the incident.
Bagnaia was making rapid progress through the pack, having initially spun his rear tyre on the less clean part of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh position at the outset, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's fall, advanced to fifth after Franco Morbidelli went off track, and then climbed to fourth by inducing an error from Pedro Acosta at the 16th turn.
Several circuits were completed in the pursuit of Marques, who veered off course at the twelfth turn, presenting Bagnaia with an opportunity to overtake him entering the thirteenth turn. However, upon navigating into turn 13, Bagnaia and Marquez collided, resulting in both riders crashing.
Bagnaia visited the medical facility following the race, though there has been no released information regarding his status so far.
The collision between the two competitors elevated Pedro Acosta to third position, though he was nearly 15 seconds away from the victor.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth place from a 14th-place start. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales made the decision to retire as well.
Investigations were initiated after the race concerning Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez regarding the pressure of their front tyres.
