Marquez Triumphs in Aragon as Bagnaia Crashes Out: A Dominant Return to Victory Lane
Marc Marquez Leads from Start to Finish in Aragon MotoGP, While Pecco Bagnaia Exits After Collision with Alex Marquez
In an impressive show of skill, Marc Marquez took control from the very beginning and never looked back at the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, overshadowing an incident where Pecco Bagnaia collided with Alex Marquez and was forced out of the race.
At the Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez celebrated his initial Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving it in a commanding manner.
Dominating from the start to the finish, Marquez showcased outstanding speed and ultimately triumphed, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin expanded his lead in the championship to 23 points by securing second place, following Francesco Bagnaia's exit from the race due to a collision with Alex Marquez, which also caused Marquez to go down in the incident.
Bagnaia was making progress through the pack after initially losing traction with his back tyre from the less clean part of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh position at the outset, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's crash, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and eventually climbed to fourth after pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at the 16th turn.
After completing several circuits, an attempt was made to overtake Marques, who veered off course at turn 12, giving Bagnaia an opportunity to pass him as they entered turn 13. However, during the maneuver into turn 13, Bagnaia and Marquez collided, resulting in both of them crashing.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical center, however, there has been no information released regarding his current health status.
The collision between the pair elevated Pedro Acosta to the third position, though he finished nearly 15 seconds after the leader.
Brad Binder secured the fourth spot, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth position from a 14th place start. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth place, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales opted to withdraw as well.
Following the race, probes were initiated into Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez regarding the pressure of their front tires.
