Marquez Triumphs at Aragon MotoGP as Bagnaia Crashes in Dramatic Clash with Alex Marquez
In an impressive performance at the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez led from start to finish, while Pecco Bagnaia's race ended in a collision with Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix for MotoGP, Marc Marquez clinched his first Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving the victory with a commanding lead.
Dominating from the start to finish, Marquez showcased outstanding speed and ultimately triumphed, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by finishing second, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash during a collision with Alex Marquez, who also fell in the incident.
Bagnaia was making quick progress through the pack, having once more encountered issues with his rear tire slipping from the unclean portion of the starting grid. He initially found himself in seventh position at the outset, moving up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's fall, advancing to fifth as Franco Morbidelli veered off course, and finally reaching fourth place after pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at turn 16.
After completing several laps in pursuit, Marques made a mistake by going too far off course at turn 12, which gave Bagnaia the opportunity to overtake him entering turn 13. However, during the maneuver at turn 13, Bagnaia and Marquez collided and both were brought down.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical center, though there has been no information released regarding his status.
The collision between the pair elevated Pedro Acosta to a third-place finish, though nearly 15 seconds adrift of the leader.
Brad Binder secured a fourth-place finish, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth from a 14th place start. Franco Morbidelli took sixth place, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales subsequently withdrew from the race.
Investigations were initiated after the race involving Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez concerning the pressure of their front tires.
