Marquez and Bagnaia’s High-Profile Duo: Dispelling Fears of a Divisive ‘Wall’ in Ducati’s 2025 Garage
Concerns over the infamous garage 'barrier' brushed aside for Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia
“This doesn’t imply that things will be smooth in the garage…"
The potential partnership between Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia next season might lead to tension – however, concerns regarding a repeat of the infamous 'wall' seen in Yamaha's pit have been dismissed.
In 2025, Ducati's official team plans to team up Marquez and Bagnaia, marking the most notable pairing since Yamaha had Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.
Rossi and Lorenzo's competition escalated to such a degree that they needed a barrier – marking one of the most notorious moments in MotoGP history – to split their garage and keep their data apart.
"Broadcast journalist Simon Crafar expressed skepticism about the situation escalating between Marquez and Bagnaia in the upcoming season."
He emphasized that Ducati won't permit the kind of rivalry that existed between Rossi and Lorenzo: “Currently, Marc is going through this, while Pecco is familiar with the dynamics. The information is accessible.
"Everyone collaborates towards a shared objective. After that, it falls upon you as the sole cyclist to create an impact.
"This doesn't imply that everything will go smoothly in the garage."
"I'm confident that the work in the garage will present challenges!"
Jorge Martin of Pramac, who missed securing the 2025 factory position to Marquez and will therefore move to Aprilia, enters this weekend's Dutch MotoGP with an 18-point advantage.
Bagnaia, the current titleholder, occupies the second position, while Gresini's Marquez, who has yet to achieve a victory on a Ducati, is in third place.
Following a three-week hiatus, there is intense speculation within the racing community regarding how Marquez and Bagnaia will manage as teammates in the upcoming season.
"Crafar acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating, 'This certainly won't be a simple task.'"
"Throughout history, the most skilled riders have not always made the best team members."
"Marc is determined and aims to overwhelmingly defeat his rivals."
During my era, Mick Doohan was the one. Equally, having him as a teammate would have been incredibly challenging! His intention was to utterly dominate you!
"This component contributes significantly to their remarkable success and appeal."
"I'm hopeful that Ducati will be able to maximize the potential of both their riders."
"I think that's what they're after."
