Marini and Honda Eye Redemption at Sachsenring After Potential-Filled Struggles in Assen
Luca Marini expressed that his team had significant potential in Assen, despite ongoing challenges. He stated, "In Assen, we had a lot of potential, so my goal is to capitalize on that and demonstrate the improvements we've achieved."
Luca Marini believes that Honda is making significant strides, despite the lack of visible results in the 2024 MotoGP season up to this point.
Marini, along with the three other Honda riders, qualified within the bottom five positions at Assen and then faced difficulties in earning points.
However, the Italian remains optimistic about showcasing greater potential this weekend at the Sachsenring.
Marini remarked that they need to regain the fortune they missed out on the previous weekend in Germany. He added that he is heading into the weekend with the same determination as always, ready to put in the effort and achieve improvements.
"In Assen, we demonstrated significant potential, so my goal is to capitalize on that and highlight the advancements we've achieved."
Although Joan Mir was nearing a fresh agreement with Honda, he experienced another catastrophic event in Assen, where he failed to finish the race due to a crash.
Mir failed to finish the race in Assen, marking his fourth non-completion in the past six events. This means he has only completed half of the grand prix races in 2024 up to this point.
“We can’t take a break! We’re heading straight into action as we arrive in Germany,” Mir stated before the weekend.
“Sachsenring is quite distinct from Assen, so we'll have to wait and see what unfolds there.
"The weekend strategy will likely resemble our approach in Assen, focusing on optimizing our setup and verifying some elements before the upcoming break."
